What we fix

Windows PCs, laptops, all-in-ones and custom builds, for homes and businesses. If it plugs in, we’ve probably seen it before.

  • Slow or freezing

Machines that take five minutes to start, grind to a halt with a few tabs open, or crash without warning. Usually a failing drive, a full disk, overheating or too little memory, and all four are fixable.

  • Cracked & faulty screens

Laptop screens, hinges, flickering displays and the dreaded black screen on startup. We fit the correct panel for your model, not a generic one.

  • Viruses, malware & scams

Pop-ups, browser hijacks, ransom messages and “Microsoft support” scams. We clean the machine, check what was accessed and tell you which passwords to change.

  • Won’t boot or no power

Blue screens, boot loops, dead power jacks and machines that show nothing at all. We diagnose whether it’s worth repairing before you spend anything.

  • Upgrades that make a difference

An SSD and more memory will transform most machines that are five years old or less. We move your files, programs and Windows across so nothing is lost.

  • Data recovery & transfers

Failed hard drives, accidentally deleted files and moving everything from an old machine to a new one. We’ll be honest about what can and can’t be recovered.

Not sure if it’s worth repairing? Call us and describe the problem. We’ll tell you honestly, even when the answer is that a replacement makes more sense.

Computer repair questions

The things people ask us most before booking a repair.

How much does a computer repair cost?

You get a fixed price before any work starts, and nothing goes ahead until you approve it. Our common repair prices are listed further up this page. Anything unusual is quoted after we've diagnosed it.

How long will my repair take?

Most common jobs, like a virus clean-up or an SSD upgrade, are usually [X working days]. Screen replacements depend on the part arriving, normally [X working days]. We'll give you a realistic timescale once we've diagnosed it, and you can follow progress in the customer portal.

Will I lose my files?

In almost all cases, no. We keep your data on the machine wherever possible, and on upgrades like a new SSD we move everything across for you. If a drive has already failed, we'll tell you honestly what can and can't be recovered before you commit to anything. We'd always recommend backing up anything irreplaceable before any repair.

Do you come to my house, or do I bring it to you?

Either works. We do home and office visits across Ayrshire, Glasgow and Paisley, or you can drop your machine off with us in Kilbirnie. Just tell us which you'd prefer.

Is it worth repairing an old laptop?

Often, yes. An SSD and a memory upgrade will transform most machines that are five years old or less, usually for far less than a replacement. If it genuinely isn't worth it, we'll say so rather than take your money, and we can supply a refurbished or new machine instead.

Do you repair Macs?

[Answer this one — people search for MacBook and iMac repair in Ayrshire a lot. If you do them, say which models and what you cover. If you do not, say so and recommend where to go.]

Can you fix my business computers?

Yes. We look after offices, shops and small businesses across Ayrshire, including servers, networks and ongoing support. We work around your opening hours where we can so you're not left without a machine during trading.

What if the same fault comes back?

Our repairs are covered for [X] days. If the same fault returns in that time, bring it back and we'll put it right. We're in Kilbirnie, not a call centre.

How do I pay?

We accept [cash, card and bank transfer]. You'll get an invoice in your customer portal for every job.

Still not sure? Call 01505 595002 and describe the problem.
